Evolving and Growing

  • November 1, 2021

Hi! Today starts a I start a new chapter in my life book and I am thrilled, scared and anxious at the same time. If you’re a long time follower you might be familiar my journey so far, but for those that are new keep reading and catch up. I moved to FL in 2015 from PR, a huge change in my life. Worked for 3 years at tattoo studio in the mall(the one with the name of the Renaissance painter), then worked at private studio in Merritt Island, the one with the orange and most recently I’ve been at 13 Waves Tattoo in Cocoa Beach formerly known as Aces High. I’ve been at the Cocoa Beach...

No One Is Forcing You: An Opinion

  • October 14, 2021

People: don't make existing character "queer" make a new character.DC: ok, here's a new character.People: stop it with this force diversity A few years ago, I thought like that. It enraged me back then for honestly, no reason. I get it, tho. I get the frustration on both sides, one feels like they are shoving things down their throat (no one is) and the others don't see themselves anywhere and when they do is often stereotypes and many times bad ones (It wasn’t until recently I experienced the power of representation). One day having a conversation with some friends things started clicked,...

Ni Una Menos (Not One More)

I’ve been writing this in my head for a few days now, it has been interrupting my thoughts and my other projects and I can’t go another day without getting it out. I was going to write in Spanish, because it pertains to current events in PR, but this is a message that needs to reach as many people as possible. Recently I woke up to the news that another woman had been found dead in PR and to add salt to that wound she had filed a domestic complaint in court against her partner and was dismissed by the judge. Her partner later confessed to having killing her. Not two days later another...

A Brother Has Fallen

Erico “La Bestia” Morales (1969-2021) The first time I met Erico was on my first year of tattooing professionally. Our mutual friend Dennis (who is the guitar player for Dantesco) brought him to the studio to talk about his next tattoo, of course. I was a bit anxious about it, not gonna lie, you see he was already a legend in the metal scene in Puerto Rico. He was not at all what I was expecting, don’t get me wrong he was Metal as fuck, but he also had a calming presence and after a few minutes of talking I knew I had a new friend. Fast forward a few months and tattoos were...

About Representation

  • October 14, 2020

About representation. I always knew representation is important, but I've never felt represented in movies or series or books when they portray a puertorrican character. Although I know a lot of puertorricans like me the truth is these characters are not portrayed like me or others like me. The other day I was watching Vampires vs The Bronx and there’s a kid reading Salem's Lot wearing a Ghost shirt named Luis Costa played wonderfully by Gregory Diaz IV. Just a few seconds later Miguel (played by Jaden Michael) calls Luis puertorrican Harry Potter. There, that moment when they called...

Life In Decay

Hello! It has been a while since I took some time to write something, these past few months have been a rollercoaster, but I’m not here to talk about that. Last year for fall I created the #witchlife series and was more popular than I anticipated. What I didn’t anticipate either was the amount of pressure that was going to put me under. I had to create a new series this year and this time I planned it better. Different than last year I won’t post a new drawing every day(or will I?), but every Friday I will reveal a illustration for the series. Doing it that way makes my life way easier....

Video Games

Yesterday was Sony PlayStation 5 presentation and although I like video games I’ve never pay attention to this events. Usually because I’m working or I’m working. Yesterday, while taking a break from jamming a little with one of my customers that became a friend we watched part of it and I was impressed. Let me give you a bit of back story. I was born in December 1978, that make some 41 years at the time of writing this. The Atari games were fun, although I got to play it when it wasn’t a novelty anymore. I got the Sega Master System when there were no stores in town carrying games...

I Can’t Breathe

I Can’t Breathe

I can’t breathe. When spring comes around and my allergies flare up. It is a really horrible sensation to not be able to breathe. I can’t breathe. When I get asthma and it’s almost impossible to take a deep breath and there’s no air coming in, not being able to finish a sentence when talking. I can’t breathe. I wake up in the middle of the night breathless and my chest hurts in the morning. I use an inhaler and hope that it works and I don’t stop breathing while I’m asleep. I can’t breathe. I can’t breathe, that phrase has been haunting me all day. I can’t breathe....

Tattooing post COVID-19

There are new standards and protocols in the shop, and they are absolute. Tattoos are by appointment only, there will be no walk ins to the shop. You can call the shop, or contact me personally to get tattooed. Same day is not out of the question, but has to be arranged. You will be coming to your appointment alone. I know this sucks, but it has to be for a while. Masks are mandatory for the duration of your tattoo. If you don't have one, we will provide it for you, but we ask the you provide your own. You will be asked to wash and sanitize hands, phone and any other items upon arrival....
