Still Creating

It’s been a rough few weeks with all the Covid-19 situation. My wife and I have been following it since very early, so when it got here we weren’t surprised. We are prepped, we take the necessary precautions, but as days go by things start to get scary. The best way for me to deal with those scary thoughts that makes me anxious is by drawing and writing. I have written down at least 12 pages for This Is Us, I finished a 6 page story for a friend called Tolath; Peculiar Accounts of the Seemingly Ordinary. I started working on an old script I started a few years ago with my friend...

Being Creative

Alright! A few days ago I posted some hero templates for you and your kids to create your own heroes! I’ve seen a couple already and I have been overwhelmed with joy. This time I got creative with a drawing I had started last year, but I wasn’t happy with it so I put it in my “ideas for later folder”. Well, later was last night. This is a 40’s pulp magazine cover inspired drawing. I’ve always loved that retro futuristic Sci-Fi covers from paperbacks and magazines from times when I wasn’t even born yet. Space Adventures Feel free to click here to download higher resolution...

Be Creative

In these confusing days some of us find ourself isolated, be it by choice or imposed we are in one hell of a pickle. Some of you have kids and this whole situation caught us off guard. Last year I was offering at conventions blank “ Heroes and Villains and Sidekicks” templates to kids. The idea is that they create a superhero and their archenemy or their sidekick. If you find yourself trying to find something to entertain your kid(s) feel free to download these templates and have your kid(s) create some cool characters and let their creativity run and have fun. Just click on Hero...

Vampires

Creatures of the night that feed of the essence of life, blood. Seducers and powerful they’ll make you love them to death. Here’s part one of a set of monsters I’m working on. In this set I focused on vampires. My first Halloween costume or at least the one I can remember was of Count Dracula. It had a long cape and a front piece that looked like a suit that you tied on the back of your wait and the neck. Add some make up and fangs and bam! I was Dracula for a night. “The Count” This one is inspired on Bela Lugosi’s interpretation of Dracula. There’s a new series...

This I Us

Hello! This is us is a spin-off of Churchill. I’ve been working on this idea in my head for a while. I wanted to make a weekly comic again, but wanted it to be single panel. Don’t worry, you’ll get to see more of Churchill and the gang. Only the format changed. I hope that you guys enjoy it as much as I am enjoying making them. “I like your hat” #toonmechallenge If you’re following my social media accounts you might have seen this #toonmechallenge drawing. It was really fun to do and easy because I had already the idea in my head for This Is Us.

Off With Their Heads

It has been a really rough week in PR. Although there’s a big part of the population protesting and manifesting, there’s the other side of the same coin that are condemning those who are protesting or in support of protesting. Some of them have valid reasons for wanting to wait until the November elections, some of them are just sheep. To quote a much smarter person than me, “let the protests be the recurrent theme during this year. The people controlling the narrative during a year of election. That every debate, every interview be about the protests” then go and vote and be smart...

The Political Drawings pt. 2 (#gobiernodementiras)

On May 1st 2017 something beautiful happened in PR. The people, tired of the lies and corruption of the politicians decided to go out and protest. At that time I was already living in FL, but my friends, my family were still on the island. Seeing so many people out protesting was beautiful and to show my support and solidarity I made a sketch called Suficiente (Enough). This sketch was the first of my works to go viral. Taking me by surprise. “Suficiente”May 1st 2017 Pepito is a local newspaper cartoon about a little kid that has no problem calling out the politician's bullshit...

The Political Drawings pt.1

I, by no means consider myself a political cartoonist. A few days ago in a conversation someone referred to me as a political cartoonist and although I have made some political drawings I don’t consider myself one. There are a lot of political cartoonist, legit cartoonists that are way better than me at expressing their political statements and I can only hope to be as good as any of them. For years I ignored politics, thinking that my voice didn’t make a difference or that it didn’t matter. I sometimes feel that way, but in 2016 my mind started to change when the 45th president...

The Father of Lies

The father of lies, the deceiver, the shining one, the morning star. He is know by many names, the most common one is Lucifer. In this series I explore the many names of the fallen angel. The Shining One The Shining One is the first one in this new series, it started as a tribute to an artist I follow on Instagram called godmachine and studying Mike Mignola’s art on Hellboy.
